Light Proof Darkroom changing bag and 35mm Film Retrieval tool
This auction is for a light-proof "changing bag". It was found new, still sealed in the bag. I have taken it out to examine it for any defects, which there are none.
These were used primarily by professional photographers out in the field. They were usually for emergency situations when you would need to change film type in the middle of shooting, or if film became damaged, broken or came off the spool. This bag would allow you to insert film and the entire camera into the bag, then using elastic, light-proof, openings, you could insert your hands into it, open the camera and fix or change whatever needed to be done. This would keep your film from being exposed or fogging. It includes a large zippered area and elastic armbands. Also included is a smaller, light-proof bag and a pair of white gloves, mainly for working with negatives and slides.
Also included is a film retrieval tool, used if the film leader accidently becomes wound into the canister. Ordinarily, the film would not be able to be saved. The tool allows you pull the leader back out so the film can be used.

Background information on these items:
Recently an uncle of mine passed away. He was a professional photographer all his life, starting as a WWII Army photographer. He started using Pentax cameras after the Asahiflex came out in the 1950's. Later in life, he mainly used Pentax 6x7 equipment. Most of his darkroom equipment, vintage bodies and 6x7 equipment have already been sold in a private auction. The items I'm listing for his wife, my aunt, are things that weren't offered at the original auction. She has given them to me to sell for her.
My uncle enjoyed "having" as much as using photo gear [GRIN]. I was told that because he depended on his gear for his living, often times he would purchase duplicates of certain gear. Although they would occasionally be used, they were often put away as spares. That is why some of these items can be found in excellent or mint condition. Lenses were treated exceptionally well. Looking through his extensive collection of lenses, I noticed none of the lenses had any scratches or scuffs, even if the lens itself looked worn. I found out before a lens was used, it ALWAYS had had a high-quality glass Skylight 1A filter placed on it, meaning the front element of any lens was ever exposed to the elements.
I dabble in 35mm photography as a hobby and have tested each item before listing them. BUT, please understand these items are sold AS-IS. I will detail and photograph each item as carefully as I can, but if I've missed anything, or if you need further information, including detailed photographs, please contact me before you bid.
Most items will available for international buyers, but some items will not. Please read the shipping description for each item before bidding.
