This 4-Lamp Fluorescent Cool Daylight Lamphead is a cool (5400K) flicker free light source primarily for use in digital still and scanning photography or video capture.
The four highly efficient 30W fluorescent lamps provide the equivalent output of 560w tungsten light with no heat or UV output, meaning that this light set can be placed closer to the subject than incandescent or flash lighting.
Flicker free Flo-lights, also called cool lights, are really a great approach to both video and photographic lighting.
They provide a very nice even flicker free lighting pattern virtually eliminating shadows, plus they are already color corrected to 5400K without the need of filters or having to continually white balance and they are compatible with the popular HMI lights, in addition to utilizing very little current for the equivalent lighting power to Quartz Halogen or Tungsten bulbs.
This amazing set allows you to select from 320(Fluorescent 15W¡¿4) to 1095watts (Fluorescent 70W¡¿4) in quarter increments. This provides full control over your lighting maintaining the industry standard daylight color temperature of 5400 degrees Kelvin.
Years ago, the only studio light source was incandescent light bulb which produced a very warm light source. The bulbs were hot and prone to explode. The heat made the subject sweat and uncomfortable. Then there is the monolight which produces the proper color temperature. But monolight is expensive and most photographer prefer the what you see is what you get effect from continuous light source.
"Cool lights" means that after hours of operation they generate hardly any heat, that makes them perfect for extended shoots and your talent or models will love the fact they are doing far fewer cosmetic touch-ups. This virtually eliminates the need for a make-up artist on the set for the entire shoot.
This set is supplied with a light output intensifying reflector and diffuser which together give an exceptionally soft lighting effect. This makes it easy to use and ideally suited for professional and semi-professional digital capture for desktop and internet publishing.
This is a low cost solution of continuous lighting for video, still and digital photography.
